Little Sleeping Child Road Summary
A gate was constructed on Little Sleeping Child Road by homeowners in the 80s/90s preventing access to many entry points to Forest Service lands. A trailhead was constructed near the gate entrance for access to Forest Service, but the trailhead has shrunk considerably over the years and is not being regularly maintained for its intended use.
PLWA contacted both the county and the local Forest Service office. Initial research shows the road as county maintained, but it is unclear what stretch(es) of the road are maintained by the county or where maintenance stops. It seems that locals are maintaining the road beyond the gate. The Forest Service has verified there is an easement for the road, but it is unclear whether the easement allows for public access or Forest Service administrative use only.
PLWA is reviewing the available documentation and more research is needed.
