Careless Creek Summary

We have received multiple complaints for Careless Creek Road (Forest Service Road #656) in the Big Snowy Mountains. The road has been accessed by the public for more than forty years. Recently, one section of land sold under the name Bridge Careless Creek LLC and the landowner has stopped allowing access through their property. Initial discussions with the Forest Service and Fergus County indicated no records of an easement or county road petition for Careless Creek Road.

Initial research indicates this may be a prescriptive use issue. PLWA will continue to look into the complaint in hopes of finding a resolution to access the thousands of public Forest Service acres beyond.
