ANNUAL MEETING 2021
We Went Virtual This Year!
PLWA’s Annual Meeting was held WEDNESDAY June 2nd, 2021
This year PLWA’s Annual Meeting was held online. We made this decision for two reasons:
To keep everyone safe during the (hopefully!) tail end of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In response to requests from members across the country to enable them to attend for the first time.
We were excited to be able to offer our members and supporters even MORE ACCESS at our meeting.
Our Online Auction ran for 3 days - from Monday May 31st @ 6 PM to Wednesday June 2nd at 8 PM!
We had folks attend from around the country and recorded the meeting for those that could not attend the live broadcast. View the recording below.

YOUR ACCESS RIGHTS
We were honored to have Kyle Nelson as our guest speaker this year. Originally from Libby, Montana, after serving honorably in the US Marine Corps, Kyle received his law degree from the University of Montana. Currently he practices at Goetz, Baldwin, & Geddes P.C., the firm responsible for our Stream Access Law. Kyle spoke about the history of Stream Access in Montana, the role of public access in our recreational rights in Montana, and our public access rights. He also commented on current and future challenges, and participated in a Q&A with viewers.
PLWA ACCESS & OFFICER ELECTIONS
Members and supporters learned about access issues we are working on in 14 counties across Montana! It was a challenging legislative session, but PLWA and its supporters, along with Partner Organizations and passionate activists rose to the challenge. We made sure that government officials and those that would erode access know that there is strong opposition against this.
We also started our first online elections to add two Board Members in June, with a third Board Member being selected this summer with open nominations and Board Appointment.
ONLINE AUCTION
We had some AWESOME donations this year for our online auction. New REI camping gear, an incredible full day float trip from Troutfitters, Orvis waders, a Yeti cooler, a Fido Pro Airlift harness for your dog, custom duck calls from High Water Mark Custom Calls, and lots more! PLWA was able to raise $4828.00 to support public access in Montana through your generosity!
PLWA PROGRAMMING
A lot has happened in the past few months. Members heard about PLWA’s new programming, including our PLWA Partner, Access Ambassador, and Access Advocate Programs. Supporters also learned about ways in which they can volunteer to help PLWA achieve its access goals.
